Freegal is a music service for libraries that allows users to download DRM free music for FREE from their Library. I was able to take it for a test drive yesterday and it was super easy.

I really WANT this for my library! And I want it soon!

The company who makes this service available is Library Ideas, LLC. Unfortunately, their website is not terribly helpful. We’ve got someone speaking with them this week and I hope the price is reasonable. It looks like a big win for the library and our public. People can download up to 20 songs a week! They have an impressive catalog of music. New and classic artists are available.

If we can get it I’ll be soooo happy!
